Animal Jam is a kids' virtual world game series by Wildworks consisting of Animal Jam Classic, released as a Flash game in 2010 in collaboration with the National Geographic (formerly known as Animal Jam), and its 3D successor released for mobile devices in 2015, Animal Jam (formerly known as Play Wild).

Just like every other kid growing up in the 2010s, I was addicted to virtual world games which were massive at the time. I played lots, but none
stood out to me quite so much as Animal Jam (hereafter, when I say
that, I'm talking about Classic which is 95% of what I play), and it's
the first time I can remember having such a strong
interest. It was bad. Like, I would be at skating
practice trying to mimic the fox dance on the ice
and I looked crazy. Needless to say, this interest
has stuck for a long time.

How I started playing is actually a very funny story. Originally, my game of choice was Woozworld (I ran a scamming operation where I would do those poor starving orphan roleplays so my 'mothers' would give me free clothes, after which I would block them), and while I didn't play it, I watched a lot of Habbo Hotel story videos too. One of which happened to be a teen pregnancy drama, which my dad saw in our family computer's history and got so freaked out that he started researching and banned me from all the games that weren't clean enough. I was left with Animal Jam among a few others. So... thank you to whoever made that video, I think?
I've been playing since 2013! That was 13 years ago, when I was 7 years old! This was the homepage when I started:

What's my favourite...
Animal?Arctic Fox!
Pet?Frankenkitty!
Event?Jamaalidays!
Alpha?Peck!

I've always loved the adventures. I joined when the party banner still said "beta", and oh my gosh, it was so exciting whenever a new one came out... my favourite to this day is Greely's Inferno because I was so completely blown away by it the first time I played it. I know AJC has a skeleton crew running it nowadays but I can't help but hope they'll give us more someday...

I'm a huge fan of the seasonal adventures as well! Special Delivery and Lucky Clovers especially. Actually... "Lucky Clovers" sounds familiar, doesn't it? I wonder if I've stolen that name for anything. Even during the period where I didn't play the game anymore, I would still log on sometimes to do the seasonals (and when I picked the game back up again my inventory was FULL of prizes and nothing else LOL). It was even more rewarding back in the day when the prize pool still had spikes! I remember winning a blue long from Lucky Clovers... and then immediately trading it away for a less rare colour because I didn't like blue and was too dumb a kid to understand the economy...
